Policies and Procedures

GoodWeave International (GWI) organizational policies are developed jointly by the GWI Secretariat and Members Council.

  • The GoodWeave Licensing and Certification Policy describes the system of licensing and certification for the GoodWeave program.
  • The GoodWeave Child Protection Policy is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and references the Child Protection Policies of Anti-Slavery International and Camfed.
  • The GoodWeave Child Rescue and Rehabilitation Policy describes the approach to rehabilitating child labor when it is found through the inspection and monitoring program.
  • The GoodWeave Confidentiality Policy and Trademark Policy cover issues relating to transparency, safeguarding confidential information and rights GoodWeave trademark ownership and rights.

Terms of Reference describe the composition, roles, responsibilities and general working principles of the various bodies and divisions of GWI:

GoodWeave International’s ongoing efforts to meet best practices in standard setting and certification include promoting transparency and stakeholder engagement. In line with these principles, announcements, reports and other public documents relating to new or revised standards are circulated broadly and available online; further information regarding deliberations and/or decisions of the Standards Committee are available to interested parties upon request; and GoodWeave policies and procedures are available for public review and comment.
