Between 2007-2011, GoodWeave International (GWI) developed an expanded standard for its certification program. In 2010, two rounds of public consultations were held, with the aims of informing, involving, collaborating with and empowering stakeholders (see the aims of the consultations).
Stakeholder feedback was received and considered by the the GoodWeave Standards Committee in developing the final draft of the new standard. The final draft was approved in September 2010 and submitted to the GWI Members Council for adoption in March 2011.
